Abstract

This study aims to determine the regional leading sector of Kepahiang Regency as the information and considerations in planning economic development. Secondary data such as time series of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Kepahiang and Bengkulu in the period 2011-2014 are applied. Klassen Typology and Location Quotient (LQ) are tools of analysis. The results of the analysis based on two analysis tools indicate that the leading sector with the criterias developed, base, and competitive is agricultural sector. The results showed that the agricultural sector can be used as a leading sector in Kepahiang Regency with criteria of the advanced sector and grow rapidly and is the base sector. Seberang Musi Sub-district has the most potential for cultivation of food crops and plantations with 13 commodities that become the base sector. For the specialization of food crop base sector is Kaba wetan Subdistrict with 5 commodities with base criteria and for plantation crops Merigi and Seberang Musi subdistricts with 9 commodities crops.

Abstract

Cassava flour is one of the derivative products obtained from cassava processing. Cassava flour is different from tapioca because of soaking process and has higher nutritional value. This research is aimed to seek to analyze: 1) Channels and marketing efficiency of cassava flour, 2) Revenue and cost efficiency of cassava flour production and 3) Strategy recommendation for developing cassava flour production and marketing. The research area is determined purposively method with the consideration that UD. Nula Abadi is a new agroindustry with innovative products that are still not widely known by people in Bondowoso Regency. The sample of the producer is determined using purposive sampling and snowball sampling especially for the marketing agency. Data were collected by interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used in this research include marketing margin, share and efficiency to answer the first problem and analysis of income as well as R/C ratio to answer the second problem. The analysis of marketing channels and SWOT is done descriptively to answer the third problem. The results showed that 1) marketing channel of cassava flour on UD. Nula Abadi consists of 3 marketing channels and the most efficient marketing is that in channel II (Manufacturer - Large trader - Consumer household / agroindustry). 2) Total revenue of cassava flour Rp. 6.250.000,00 with total production costs of Rp. 3,525,458,33, so that the amount of income is Rp. 2,724,541,67. The value of production cost efficiency (R/C ratio) obtained is 1,17. 3) The competitive relative position of cassava flour agroindustry is located in the field of White Area or potentially strong field, meaning that the agroindustry can use its competence to exploit the prospective opportunity.

Abstract

The rising of semi-organic rice farming in Watukebo Village is due to the doubthness in implementing the semi-organic system. Semi-organic rice farm system require considerable cost savings compared to conventional rice and in the short-term, semi-organic rice production will generally decline. The study was conducted in the Watukebo Village Banyuwangi Regency intentionally. The sample are taken by using total sampling method for semi-organic rice farmers and quota sampling technique for conventional rice farmers. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The Tools of analysis data used are income analysis, R/C ratio analysis, and Cobb-Douglas production function analysis. The results showed that : (1) there was no significant difference between the average income of semi-organic rice farmers and conventional rice farmers, (2) there was no significant difference between the average of cost efficiency of semi-organic rice farming with conventional rice farmers in Watukebo of Blimbingsari, and (3) factors that influence the production of semi organic rice significantly are land area, organic fertilizer, and urea fertilizer. Factors affecting the conventional rice production significantly are the number of seeds and labors.

Abstract

Karanganyar Regency is an area that has great potential for agroindustry development. Equivalance with development priorities in this district, industry and agriculture have an important role. Agroindustry processing can improve the performance of the agricultural sector. The purpose of this research is to find out the priority map of agroindustry in Kranganyar Regency, to know the position of competing sweet potato agroindusty, and to formulate priority of development strategy of sweet potato agroindustry in Karanganayar Regency. The basic method of this research is descriptive analytic. Priority agroindustry was analyzed by Delphi method, and the determination of competing position and alternatives strategy was analyzed with Internal-External Matrix (IE) and Grand Strategy Matrix. The decision on strategy selection is determined by Quantitative Startegic Planning Matrix (QSPM). The results showed that sweet potato agroindustry as leading agroindustry in Karanganyar Regency. Based on IE matrix analysis, the position of competing sweet potato agroindustry is in quadrant II (product development strategy and market penetration). Based on the Grand Strategy Matrix, the position of sweet potato agroindustry is in quadrant I which means having perfect strategic position. Based on QSPM obtained the most appropriate strategy recommendation of sweet potato agroindustry is product development strategy.

Abstract

Indigenous Medicinal Plants Lampung is a medicinal plant obtained directly from natural ingredients in all regions in Lampung Province, and local policy in developing and preserving it is necessary. The purpose of this research is to know the policy of perspective and strategy of TOAL development based on perception of policy maker in Lampung Province. The study was conducted from May to September 2017 located in Lampung Province. Respondents were determined by purposive sampling by appointing relevant parties on TOAL development activities. The results showed that Internal Factor, the strength among others the use of medicinal plants as an alternative medicine has become a tradition of Lampung society, The weakness factor among others HR is still less creative to create variants of traditional medicine products. External Factors consist of opportunities that can be marketed in the form of processed products that can be marketed domestic scale and national scale; and threats, funds allocated to support the development of TOAL are still limited. Strategy for Developing and Implementing Traditional Medicine and Planning Systems for the Availability of Traditional Medicines Raw Materials in Lampung Province to become National Policy Direction to Support Traditional Health Services, covering a) Cultivation and conservation of TOAL resources, b) efficacy and benefits, c) quality, d) accessibility , e) appropriate use, f) supervision, g) research and development, h) documentation and databases, i) human resource development and j) monitoring and evaluation.

Abstract

Arabica coffee production in District Sumberwringin 2011 reached 6.08 tonnes with a productivity of 0.17 tonnes / ha. Total production and productivity is the largest number compared with other sub-districts in the regency, This study aims to: (1) find out the factors influencing the income of coffee farmers, (2) Proving the market structure formed at the level of smallholder coffee farmers is oligopsoni. Locations were selected in District Sumberwringin because it is a major production center or people's coffee-producing regency. The sampling technique using snowball sampling. The total number of samples are 30 people arabica coffee grower and 30 people robusta coffee grower. The analysis are linear regression and the concentration ratio (CR).The result in arabica coffee: the cost of drugs and labor costs have a significant effect on income, while the area of ​​land and the cost of fertilizer have no significant effect on income. The result in robusta coffee: land area and labor cost have real effect to income, while fertilizer cost and drug cost have no significant effect to income. By calculating the value of CR found more than 80 percent that the structure of the coffee market in the District Sumberwringin monopsony or oligopsony heavy concentration.
